At Renew Enterprises, we believe that every bicycle holds the potential for freedom and independence, especially for those facing challenges on their journey to employment.

Our Earn-a-Bike workshop is more than just a chance to get on the road; it’s an opportunity to learn valuable skills, meet supportive peers, and build confidence in a welcoming environment. Whether you’re aiming to overcome barriers or simply seeking a sustainable way to travel, join us as we transform bikes into vehicles of opportunity, empowering individuals to make meaningful strides toward self-sufficiency and a brighter future.

How does it work?

Can I take part?

Join us for an engaging experience where you will work alongside one of our skilled bike mechanics or enthusiastic volunteers, learning essential bike maintenance skills.

Once you’ve completed your 4 sessions, the bike will be yours to ride away on, and you’ll have the knowledge to keep it in excellent condition.

We kindly ask for a €30 contribution to help cover the cost of the necessary parts for the bikes.

Our Earn-a-Bike programmes are available to people currently experiencing involuntary long-term unemployment of 6 months or more. 

This may include, but not limited to people:

  • long-term unemployed
  • seeking asylum or with refugee status and unable to work
  • with ongoing mental or physical health problems
  • with learning difficulties
  • who are homeless or in supported/sheltered housing
  • undergoing a substance abuse recovery programme
  • on probation

However, we do not accept students.

You will need to tell us your exact height so that we can find a bike that’s the right size for you.

If you are under 18, you will always need to come with a parent or guardian.

Community Fix-a-bike Get Togethers

We believe that every bike tells a story and deserves a second chance to ride with pride.

Our Community Fix-a-Bike Get Togethers are not just about hands-on maintenance; they’re a vibrant meeting point for cycling enthusiasts and a chance to connect with fellow bike owners.

Held every Wednesday evening, these sessions provide a welcoming environment where you can learn essential bike repair skills, share tips and tricks, or simply enjoy the camaraderie of like-minded individuals.

Whether you are a seasoned cyclist or someone who is just getting started, our expert volunteers are here to support you and ensure your bike remains in top shape, all while fostering a strong sense of community and sustainability. Join us for an evening of learning, laughter, and love for cycling as we work together to keep our wheels turning and our spirits high.
